What if my MSIC application is refused?

If your application for an MSIC is refused, you will be informed in writing by AusCheck of the reason for that decision and your legal rights for an appeal.

The Secretary of the Department of Home Affairs (the Department) who takes into account your individual circumstances may grant you a discretionary MSIC, if your appeal is successful.

A discretionary MSIC may be subject to conditions such as a reduced validity period. Details on how to apply will be included in the letter you receive when you are advised you are not eligible.
