The North Pilbara Football League season has kicked off, with Pilbara Ports Authority proudly supporting the competition by providing the game day balls.
Pilbara Ports Authority contributed $11,000 to purchase the game day balls through its Community Support Initiative.
Pilbara Ports Authority Chief Executive Officer Roger Johnston said Pilbara Ports Authority is committed to making a positive impact to the community by contributing to a range of community organisations through its Community Support Initiative program.
“Pilbara Ports Authority is a proud member of the Pilbara and is committed to supporting grassroot organisations, like the North Pilbara Football League that brings the community together,” Mr Johnston said.
“Pilbara Ports Authority has been a proud supporter of the North Pilbara Football League, contributing close to $70,000 in funding since the launch of our Community Support Initiative program.
“It’s exciting to see the North Pilbara Football League incorporate the Women’s AFL league into its competition this season, and I wish all of the teams best of luck.”
North Pilbara Football League President Greg Braithwaite said Pilbara Ports Authority is supporting a football community that is diverse and inclusive, with over 700 male and female players of all ages and abilities.
“There is a huge cost involved in running a football league in the Pilbara, and the support Pilbara Ports Authority provides by supplying game day balls goes a long way in making the competition work,” Mr Braithwaite said.
“Pilbara Ports Authority is a great community member and the North Pilbara Football League is very appreciative of their continued support.”
The Pilbara Ports Authority Community Support Initiative program supports initiatives that enhance amenities, culture, education and the environment across Dampier, Karratha, Onslow and Port Hedland communities.
