Pilbara Ports local business register aims to increase opportunities for local and indigenous businesses and sub-contractors across the Pilbara.
As part of Pilbara Ports support for the Western Australian Industry Participation Strategy (WAIPS) and Aboriginal Procurement Policy (APP), the register is issued with tender documentation, shared with lead contractors on our major projects, and used internally for procurement on port projects, minor works, and services.

Lumsden Point will be delivered in multiple work packages. Packages underway are listed below. This list will be updated as the project progresses.
Construct seawalls around the wharf area.
Completed April 2024.
Dredge the Lumsden access channel, swing basin, and berth pockets.
Completed February 2025.
Widen the existing temporary causeway, creating a road and services corridor linking the wharf area with the logistics hub.
Completed July 2025.
Construct a grade-separated interchange between Lumsden Point, the Great Northern Highway, and Wedgefield (Pinga St). Package 4 is managed by Main Roads WA. Further details are available via their website.

Package 5a - Wharfs
Design and construct two new wharfs, known as PH5 and PH6.
Carry out earthworks, construct roads, and install underground services.
Procure two harbour cranes.
Deliver a communications and CCTV network, and security gatehouse building.
Design underway.
Construct a water main from Wedgefield through to Lumsden Point.
Construct 22kV feeder mains to Lumsden Point. Package 8b is managed by Horizon Power.
Construct navigation aids and a pair of front and rear leads for Lumsden Point.
Deliver mains electrical infrastructure within Lumsden Point.
